We delivered specialist screeding works as part of the refurbishment of a Marks & Spencer store in central Bristol. The scheme involved upgrading the existing floor construction to accommodate new internal finishes within a live commercial environment.

The brief

The works required removal of existing screed and installation of a high-performance replacement system suitable for updated floor finishes. Programme reliability and drying performance were critical to maintaining refurbishment timelines.

Scope of works

Removal of the existing screed. Installation of 2,800 m² of 75 mm quick-drying screed. Screed installed over a 500 g separation layer polythene to ensure isolation and performance.

Delivery

Works were phased and coordinated with the wider refurbishment programme. Screeding was completed over a 21-day period, maintaining consistent quality while working within a city-centre environment.

Outcome

The new screed provided a level, high-quality surface ready to receive finishes, supporting programme requirements and ensuring a smooth refurbishment process.
